So, two very exciting things have happened today:

1. I AM GOING TO BRAZIL FOR SPRING BREAK, BITCHEZ!!! I got one of the lower-cost spots on the trip, so I am most definitely going to go!!! I am so freaking excited, though I will miss Skokie people (but not so much skokie itself)

2. Nikki, Maddie and I got the last in-house lottery rooms in ACH! We decided on taking the 3 singles in a suite (410) in the new wing. We'll end up getting two random current-freshmen, but I think that will work out alright. It's kind of sad that our rooms were taken...but I think this whole common room/having a real dorm again will be kind of nice. Plus, now I don't have to worry about housing anymore. yay!

Other events of today: I watched 24 and it was intense as always. I've done some more sketches for 265, but my meeting isn't until Friday at noon. I still have to read for 266 for tomorrow...boo. Oh, and I got some e-mail saying that I have to send in my resume to the TXA department so they can decide on who this year's outstanding sophomores will be...I've always wondered how they make those sorts of decisions. Interesting...

I'm about to run off to class for two hours, but before then, I thought I'd just share the following fact with everyone:

I've been "taking a break" from studying and work all night.  In contrast to all the psych studying I did yesterday, I've felt almost...bored(?) tonight.  I thought about studying bio, but I refrained.  It started snowing outside tonight, so I think I'll just sleep in tomorrow, work on CDL designs or something, and then not go out until services.  :-)

Why do I rule? Because I have tickets to see Jon Stewart in March! I woke up at 4am, but I'm sitting in the middle front section :-) Life is good.

::sigh:: I LOVE Chicago, and it's so hard to believe that I've chosen to spend the majority of my next 4 years living in Ithaca.  Tonight was a typical crisp, cool winter night in Chicago, thankfully free of winds and snow :-)  It was beautiful out, all of the city lights and tall buildings.  How could I have ever left?!  Eve and I went skating in Millenium Park...I love skating!  I hadn't been since last summer, and they were shitty rental skates, but it was still amazingly fun.  My legs are incredibly sore from both the skating, and my decision to go running every day since I've been home, even though I don't run ever...I think the idea of flat land has gone to my head.  :-P

We also went to the Bourgeois Pig, which is a) a really funny name for a cafe, and b) a really cool place.  I love their stupid punny sandwich names.  I had a mexican hot chocolate, which is one of the best non-coffee drinks around (hahaha, i'm a junkie!)

In other exciting news...I finally got my digital camera!!  Dad and I went this afternoon.  It's a Canon PowerShot S500, 5.0 megapixels, not too small, but not too big either.  I love it!  I took lots of cool pictures of the city and of us skating.  I took video of the faces in Milennium Park changing expressions :-P  Ahh! I love love love new toys. tee hee hee

Friday:

-dinner in the sukkah rocked my socks off it was sooo yummy!!!
-went out with EVERYONE!! MaD's friends Mark & Maggie were here, so they all came out w/ us, and Austin...oh, crazy gouvernourians!  We went to Theta Chi for afterhours.  Had a super scary incident where I thought Ali was going to have to go to the hospital. :-(  She doesn't remember any of it, making it that much scarier.  Then, she walked back w/ creepy boy instead of us, so we thought she was going to be raped.  Vinay, I.Vince & I "broke in" Donlon to save her, but she was out on the lawn, so our efforts were in vain.  Jo called Ali b/c he was a douche, and we had to go make sure Teri was ok.

Saturday:

- Pea day!!  Teri came over, and we all hung out :-)  We watched the Cubs (get eliminated)...very depressing.  For like an hour afterwards, we were just laying in bed being sad.  We watched some random TV for a while.  Tried to go to the mall w/ Nikki and Jim, but he got lost for about an hour until we finally just came back to campus.  We watched Elf and the Italian Job back in my room, then Teri slept over!!  Buddy the elf! What's your favorite color? hehehe, oh, and: remember, the yellow one's don't stop!!  :-P  I trust everyone, I just don't trust the devil inside them (or something like that).

Sunday:

-did a lot of NOTHING.  We slept in late, went to brunch, then did no work.  I went to double kickboxing because I missed the week before.
-REEL BIG FISH and DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL.  That's about all I have to say about that.  I'll have pictures later :-)

Today:

AWFUL!  Slept through the double quiz in DEA111 :-(  Decided to skip TXA125 and math in order to do the Spanish and DEA enrichment that I planned on doing this morning.  Biked to Spanish (freezing out!), then went on a big adventure to try to get my TakeNote subscription straightened out.  First went to the Cornell store, where the people there were equally dumb as the people at Appel.  Then, biked to Collegetown, where I did NOT know where Ctown Video was.  It was at the bottom of the fucking hill, but I eventually got it all worked out.  I rode back in the cold, windy, slightly rainy weather...I might be getting sick now.  Blah.  My right hip hurts, and my left foot still hurts...my whole body is dying.  Ack.

The rest of the week:  sociology prelim on thursday during class, then a TXA125 paper due on friday.  then...FALL BREAK!!! woo hoo!

Good morning!

I am so happy and relieved right now!!!! I can hardly believe I got into Cornell! :-D It's even more exciting because Ali and Maddie are in too!!! I just learned unfortunate news about Ben, but in my own selfish mind, at least I won't be going to school with him for 17 years in a row! Nah, it might have been fun, but I suppose it wasn't meant to be. :-/ Meanwhile, I'm just concentrating on the fact that I GOT IN!!!! WOO HOO!!!! ::sigh of relief::
